Ai fini della presente norma internazionale, si applicano i termini e le definizioni per le operazioni di trattamento termico fornite nella norma ASTM A941 e i seguenti termini e definizioni.

Una sezione di tubo utilizzata in una serie di tubi per garantire l’integrità meccanica e di pressione all’interno della serie di tubi e per facilitare il raggiungimento di altre funzioni richieste alla serie di tubi.

Esempi di accessori: giunti di conversione, nippli di riduzione, collegamenti corti, tubo di flusso dell’olio giunti, giunti per soffiaggio di sabbia, ecc.

Se non diversamente specificato nel contratto di acquisto, tubi e giunti dovranno essere dotati di un rivestimento esterno per prevenire la ruggine durante il trasporto. È necessario adottare misure per garantire che il rivestimento sia liscio, denso e il meno scrostato possibile. Il grado di rivestimento dovrà essere sufficiente a proteggere il tubo per almeno 3 mesi. Se non diversamente specificato nell’ordine di acquisto, il giunto può essere fornito senza rivestimento esterno (nudo), ad eccezione dell’eventuale rivestimento protettivo che può essere applicato sulla marcatura stampigliata.

Se è necessario un tubo nudo o un rivestimento speciale, è opportuno notare sull’ordine. Se è richiesto un rivestimento speciale, l’ordine deve inoltre indicare se il tubo è rivestito su tutta la lunghezza o non rivestito entro una certa distanza dall’estremità del tubo. Se non diversamente specificato, le estremità dei tubi non rivestite sono generalmente rivestite con uno strato di olio per prevenire la ruggine durante il trasporto.

  • Rivestimento per conservazione a lungo termine

Dopo aver consultato l’acquirente e il produttore, i tubi immagazzinati per un lungo periodo, soprattutto in ambiente marino, possono richiedere rivestimenti protettivi interni ed esterni per prevenire la corrosione.

Si applica quanto segue:

  • Nell’ambiente marino di stoccaggio a lungo termine concordato tra l’acquirente e il produttore, la protezione dalla corrosione del rivestimento dovrebbe essere efficace; un lieve scolorimento della superficie dovrebbe essere accettabile nell’ambiente marino di stoccaggio a lungo termine;
